Madreを選んだ理由
Madre：
たくさんオーダーキッチンの会社がある中で、弊社をお選びいただいた理由などをお聞かせいただけますか？
K様：
私はなかなかコレ！っていうキッチンに巡り合えず、大手キッチンメーカーなど6社見て回りましたが、ちょっとイメージが違ったり、サイズ感が合わなかったりと、かなり煮詰まってしまっていました。
それを見かねた旦那さんから「お金がかかってもいいから好きなもの作りなよ！」の一言で、納得のいくキッチンを選ぼう！と思いました。
本当にタイミングがよかったのですが、仲良しの友人が家を建築中で、彼女が依頼していたマードレを紹介をしてもらいました。オーダーメイドならではの自由度が高くて、デザイン性・機能性・収納たっぷりの理想のキッチンがを作ることができました。ただ6社も見てきたのでここまで自由度が高くて理想的なキッチンが作れたので決して高いと感じていません。
そして途中であきらめなくてよかったなぁと心から思っています。
Why Did You Choose Madre?
Madre:
Among the many companies that offer custom kitchens, may we ask what made you choose Madre?
Mrs. K:
I had a hard time finding the one—the kitchen that truly felt right. I visited six major kitchen manufacturers, but each time, something felt off—whether it was the design or the proportions. I was feeling quite stuck.
Seeing my frustration, my husband said, “Don’t worry about the cost. Just choose what you truly want.” That gave me the push to commit to finding a kitchen I could be satisfied with.
The timing was perfect. A close friend of mine was building her home, and she introduced me to Madre, whom she had commissioned. With Madre, I found the freedom that only true customization allows—the ability to create a kitchen that was everything I hoped for: highly functional, full of storage, and beautifully designed. Having seen six other companies beforehand, I realized how rare this level of flexibility and completeness was. I never once felt it was overpriced.
Looking back, I am so glad I didn’t give up along the way.
Madre：
キッチンに対してこだわった箇所を教えてください。
K様：
収納です！キッチンのものだけではなくて、書類とか生活感のでるものを全部背面収納にしまいたい！というのが希望でした。私は背面収納の幅をなるべく、増やせるところまで増やしたかったんです。あとはスパイスラックの位置も悩んでいました。その時に、山根さんが見た目に圧迫感が出るからカウンターの長さに合わせたほうがいいですよ！スパイスラックは端にあるほうが使いやすいですよ！と言ってもらいアドバイス通りに作りました。実際にキッチンを使ってみて、ダイニングチェアの後ろは抜けがあって空間が広々と感じれたり、スパイスラックはアイランドキッチンの一番奥端にしたことで、料理中に引き出しを開けながら調味料を使ったり、作業同線もじゃましないので、あの時アドバイスをもらって本当によかったなと感じています。
Madre:
Which aspects of the kitchen were you most particular about?
Mrs. K:
Storage—definitely! My hope was to store not only all the kitchen items but also documents and anything else that tends to create visual clutter, all neatly concealed in the back cabinetry. I wanted to maximize the width of that storage as much as possible.
I was also unsure about where to place the spice rack. At that time, Ms. Yamane advised me: “To avoid a sense of heaviness, align it with the length of the counter. And it will be more practical if it’s placed at the edge.” I followed her advice.
Now that I use the kitchen, I see how right she was. With clear space behind the dining chairs, the room feels open and spacious. And with the spice rack positioned at the far end of the island, I can pull out the drawer and grab seasonings while cooking, without disrupting the workflow. I truly appreciate that advice every day.
Madre：
使い心地はどうですか？
K様：
いままで食洗器は国内の引き出し式のものを使っていて、あまり量が入らず手洗いすることも多かったのですが、今回ドイツ製のミーレの食洗器をおすすめしてもらい、本当に使いやすくたくさん入るのと、汚れがきれいに落ちるので驚きました。
子供も3人いますので、食器にフライパン、ボウル等も一緒に洗えちゃうのが、とても助かっています。
あとは換気扇です。今回おすすめしていただいた、下引きの換気扇は天井から吊り下げのタイプではないので、空間もすごく開放的で部屋が広く感じます。油ハネよけにガラスのパーテーションをつけるお宅が多いですが、この換気扇はその役目を果たしてくれますし、掃除も楽で、使い方も簡単でとても満足しています。
Madre:
And how has it felt to actually use the kitchen?
Mrs. K:
Previously, I used a Japanese-style pull-out dishwasher, which didn’t fit much, so I often had to wash dishes by hand. This time, Madre recommended a Miele dishwasher from Germany, and it has been a revelation—so much more capacity, and it cleans everything beautifully.
With three children, it’s a lifesaver that I can wash not just dishes but also frying pans and mixing bowls all together.
Another highlight is the ventilation system. Madre recommended a downdraft vent, which doesn’t hang down from the ceiling, so the whole space feels open and airy. Many homes add a glass partition as a guard against oil splatter, but this vent serves that purpose perfectly. It’s also easy to clean and simple to use—I couldn’t be more satisfied.

出来上がったキッチンへのご家族やご友人の反応はいかがでしたか？
K様：
旦那さんもとても喜んでいて、キッチンに立つ機会も以前より多くなりました。
休日は、私や子供たちにランチプレートを作ってくれて、そのままカウンターでご飯を食べて家族の団欒を楽しんでます。
子供と一緒に料理するときも水栓が２つあるので同時に2人で作業したり家族みんなでキッチンを囲むことが増えました。
最近遊びに来た友人に「アイランドをそのまま持って帰りたい！」と褒めてもらいました。
Madre:
How did your family and friends react to the finished kitchen?
Mrs. K:
My husband is thrilled and now spends much more time in the kitchen than before.
On weekends, he makes lunch plates for me and the kids, and we all gather at the counter to enjoy the meal together. When cooking with the children, the twin faucets allow us to work side by side, so the kitchen has naturally become a place where the whole family comes together.
A friend who visited recently even said, “I wish I could just take this island home with me!”
