Madre：
マードレを選んでいただいた理由を教えて下さい。
I様：
元々は大手住宅メーカーで家を建てる事を考えていました。
その時に、キッチンもいろいろなメーカーを見に行き、住宅メーカーで勧められたキッチンメーカーでキッチンプランもほぼ決まっていました。
ただ、キッチンメーカーで作ってもらったプランは、妥協をした所ばかり、規制が多く、あきらめの産物で、本当に自分が作りたいキッチンとはかけ離れたものでした。
その後、建築家の森吉直剛アトリエさんに建てていただく事になり、キッチンにはこだわりがあったので、森吉直剛アトリエさんにマードレさんを紹介してもらいました。
気になっていた換気扇の納まりや、家電品の収納スペースが、マードレさんが作って下さったプランは、とてもすっきりして綺麗だったので、マードレさんにキッチンをお願いする事になりました。
初めて山根さんとお会いした時に、「この人だったら、きっと私が望んでいるキッチンを作ってくれる！」と思えて、安心してお任せしました。
Madre：
計画前、こんなキッチンにしたいというイメージはありましたか。
I様：
こんなキッチンにしたいというものを絵にしていました。
出来上がったキッチンが、最初のイメージとほぼ同じものになったのには驚きました。自分が欲しいキッチンをそのまま作る事ができるんだと、とても感動しました。キッチンメーカーではあきらめていたプランが自分の思い通りに実現できました。
レイアウトは絶対に対面式にしたいと思っていました。
以前住んでいた所は閉じられたキッチンで、キッチンにいると家族とコミュニケーションがとれず、新しい家は絶対に対面式がいいと思っていました。
Madre:
Could you tell us why you chose Madre?
Mrs. I:
Originally, we were considering building our home with a major housing manufacturer. At that time, we visited various kitchen makers, and through the housing company we were introduced to one in particular, with whom we nearly finalized a kitchen plan.
However, that plan was full of compromises and restrictions—it felt more like a product of resignation than something truly aligned with the kitchen I wanted to create.
Later, we decided to build our home with Moriyoshi Naotake Atelier. Since I had a strong commitment to the kitchen, they introduced us to Madre. The plan Madre presented resolved issues I had worried about, such as the ventilation hood and storage for appliances, in a way that was beautifully simple and refined. That was the deciding factor for entrusting the kitchen to Madre.
When I first met Mr. Yamane, I immediately thought, “If it’s him, he will surely create the kitchen I’m hoping for.” That gave me the confidence to entrust the project entirely to him.
Madre:
Before planning began, did you already have an image of the kitchen you wanted?
Mrs. I:
Yes, I had even drawn sketches of my ideal kitchen. I was astonished when the finished kitchen turned out to be almost exactly what I had envisioned. It moved me deeply to realize that I could truly have the kitchen I wanted—something I had given up on with other manufacturers.
From the start, I was determined to have an open, face-to-face layout. In our previous home, the kitchen was enclosed, which made it difficult to communicate with my family while cooking. For our new home, I was certain that an open-plan kitchen was the only choice.
Madre：
具体的にデザインでこだわった点はありますか。
I様：
・ハンドルがなくすっきりしていて、キッチンらしくないキッチンにしたかった事
・換気扇の存在感をなくしたかった事
・カウンターと一体になったシンクにしたかった事
・収納がたっぷりある事
・家電を隠せる収納
・カウンターが広い事 等
以前使っていて不便だなぁと思った事は、メモしておいて、それを解決できるキッチンにしました。
Madre：
打ち合わせはどんな感じで進みましたか。
I様：
とにかく今までキッチンメーカーで諦めていた事を、山根さんは「できます！」といろいろな部分で力強く言った下さった事が嬉しかったです。
YES NOをはっきり言って下さる方なので、とてもやりやすかったです。
こんなにこだわったキッチンなのに、山根さんとの息が合っていたのか、お任せして大丈夫と思えたからなのか、打ち合わせ回数は４回か５回で、あっという間に思い通りのキッチンができました。
何にでも私が心配する事なく、先回りして考えて下さっているのが凄いと思いました。
Madre：
できあがったキッチン、ご家族やご友人の反応はいかがでしたか。
I様：
絶賛の嵐でした！
みんなやっぱり換気扇には驚いてくれますね。
主人も子供達も広いカウンターに食べ終わったものを運び、片付けのお手伝いをしてくれるので、とても助かっています。
お料理の準備をしながらケーキを焼く事も、このキッチンだったら作業しやすいので同時調理簡単です。
家事スペースも洗濯機もキッチンの横なので、家事動線が良く、ほぼキッチンにいるという感じですね。全て気に入っています！
Madre：
納品させていただいたキッチンをお客様が喜んで使って下さっているのを拝見できるのは、私たちにとっても、たいへん幸せなことです。どうもありがとうございました。
Madre:
Were there any particular design elements you were especially particular about?
Mrs. I:
– I wanted a clean, handleless look so the kitchen would not appear overly “kitchen-like.”
– I wanted to minimize the presence of the ventilation hood.
– I wanted a sink integrated seamlessly with the counter.
– Ample storage space was essential.
– I wanted hidden storage for appliances.
– A wide counter was also important.
I kept notes on all the inconveniences I had experienced with previous kitchens, and this kitchen was designed to resolve each of them.
Madre:
How did the design meetings progress?
Mrs. I:
What pleased me most was how confidently Mr. Yamane said, “Yes, that can be done,” for so many things I had previously been told were impossible by other manufacturers. Because he was always clear in saying yes or no, communication was very straightforward. Despite how particular I was about the details, perhaps because we were so in sync, or because I trusted completely in his judgment, the process only required four or five meetings, and before I knew it, my ideal kitchen had taken shape.
I was especially impressed by how he anticipated my concerns and considered solutions in advance, so I never had to worry about anything.
Madre:
And how did your family and friends react to the completed kitchen?
Mrs. I:
They were absolutely full of praise! Everyone, without fail, is amazed by the hidden ventilation system. My husband and children also help by clearing the table and placing dishes on the wide counter, which makes tidying up so much easier. With this kitchen, it’s effortless to prepare meals and bake a cake at the same time, as the layout allows for simultaneous cooking without difficulty.
Since the laundry space is right beside the kitchen, the workflow for household chores is excellent. I now spend most of my time in the kitchen, and I truly love every aspect of it.
